Told its part of the insurance cover to be working. One option is just to un plug it , some owners of older MB's take this route.
It's a 2017 , it's hardly old for a mb . mine just sold for £22k .One option is just to un plug it , some owners of older MB's take this route.

I didn't say it was old just that some people who own older cars realise that the chance of it being stolen is low ,or the fact that no one pays any attention to car alarms these days might be a good enough reason not to bother with the alarm. It's a 2017 , it's hardly old for a mb . mine just sold for £22k .
Big pigeons nudging into it ,setting it off maybeI didn't say it was old just that some people who own older cars realise that the chance of it being stolen is low ,or the fact that no one pays any attention to car alarms these days might be a good enough reason not to bother with the alarm.
Does beg the question why did the siren fail on such a 'new' MB . What's next ?
Its possible the horn horn you hear ,not the alarm siren.I switched on the locked car horn from the dashboard menu.It beebs once to indicate locked. Is this the same horn that's not supposed to be working?
Not just your opinion Pete; I enabled it on mine and promptly disabled it, never to be heard again. The alarm siren is a different sound to the car horns.
PS . that little 'parp' when locking a car is very frucking annoying....just my opinion of course
It's to help the blind drivers .Not just your opinion Pete; I enabled it on mine and promptly disabled it, never to be heard again.
Not sure why it's necessary anyway. I always check a door handle to make sure the thing is locked up. Maybe that's just me
