Alignment Advice

Where did you get this done?

Still a few reds. Did they explain to you why?

Was done at an alignment specialist "apparently"
I wont name them as they are a new company to me and I wanted to test them out and use in the future.

My regular alignment specialists have moved.

No they didn't the car was picked up after business hours and that was left on the seat along with the £120.00 bill

I'm no alignment expert and wondered about the reds myself, wanted to collect some info before getting in touch with them.

What did you ask them to do a full alignment or set the toe? Does it go straight when you let go of the steering wheel?

I wouldn't be happy with that. I'd want to see teh camber more evenly distirbuted. They may have had problems with seized fasteners etc, but should have asked you if you wanted them replacing, as it looks like they haven't done anything to the front end, apart from adjust the toe. Same for the rear. I suggest talking to them in the first instance.

Something very wrong with those numbers.... Why is the castor positions so low ( toward negative ) and why are the rear camber positions so high ( toward positive ) Does the car have air suspension?

Full alignment.

No air suspension.

Gonna run it back to them just need some info as they said some settings are non adjustable.

I thought it was the castor that was un-adjustable.

Other than the rear camber it's all adjustable but the front camber/ castor will need MB adjuster bolts fitted.... Personally i'm struggling with their readings the low castor and high rear camber looks like it was measured with the car jacked up?

Are those the fluted ones iirc ?

Should be the ones with two female groves down the bolt body but i wouldn't think of buying anything until those figures are verified because as said they don't make sense so i question the reading.

broken spring? alignment gear out of calibration or not put on correctly ?

W I M - what would you expect the ideal figures to be ? Is the car supposed to be loaded with x Kg and a full tank ?

Ok after a conversation lasting less than 60 seconds consisting mostly of
"that's the best we can get it"
and no suggestions as to whats wrong, I shan't be using these guys again.

Poor effort......

Well i can't give exact numbers without knowing the angle of the front lower wishbones and drive shafts but the castor should be around 9 degrees and the rear camber around -1 degree 45'. The car doesn't need any ballast added unlike most German cars because the datum of the WB/ DS categorizes the target datum. Nevertheless you can see the castor is ridiculously low ( toward negative ) and that makes me suspicious.

Can you name and shame now? I for one would not want to use them
