Hi,

1) Oil Filter...E220 2012 Taxi 50K miles 3rd service. Must I buy the 80pounds fuel filter or can I use the 30pounds version and simply buy the 80version years from now when I intend to sell the car?

2) Re: Brake Pads....Bosch are the most expensive BUT others EICHER and another company are much cheaper....anyone have Taxi experience....and must I get the BOSCH?

1 You don't have to buy the most expensive oil filter as long as the cheaper one is doing the job.
2.Try Eurocar Parts or Carparts4 less for your brake pads. Pagid, Eicher and Textar are offered and will do the job although some members find Pagid can squeal occasionally.
You don't have to buy Bosch pads.

Hi,

As for the fuel filter. ( using all MANN parts )....my model does require the 80.00 version as it has two addtional functions ( water sensor, and temperature sensor ) as well as filtering the oil. The other two MANN fuel filters listed do not have the additional required functions and may not infact fit my 2012 model.

As for brake pads Ive gone for TEXTAR....as good as the best Im told.

Thank you,

Update:

As my 2nd service approaches....48kmiles. I enquired about the gearbox service.
Dealership says not until 70 K miles, some v.good indy say 50 but if Taxi sub 10K so do it at 40K miles.

Any guru here got the exact figure on the Gearbox service for my 2012 Oct E220 diesel
SE EXEC 7G Trip model?

Why would being a taxi mean it should be serviced more often?

It's warmed up once per day, driven gently and smoothly all day?
