AMG Supercharger

Suspect

It seems strange to me that if it was a rear ender, so the front was ok, how come this was removed from the engine, unless that was totalled as well. It also seems strange that he has no other parts, however small to sell.
Perphaps its just me being over cautious, Buyer Beware.

well i hurd you could fit a supercharger to a V6 CLK320 and V6 C320 with carlsson but that would prob cost alot...

If it works I wouldn't question where it came from...

You can supercharge a V6 - MB already do:

C32 AMG

The manifold on this supercharger is for a V8, however.

Modded?

Could that be modded to fit 500E or E55 (W210)?

Probably, but if the engine model is different and the inlet manifold didn't match up you'd have to butcher the inlet manifold. And as it looks like the charger & manifold are in one piece you'd have a hell of a job

You'd be better off keeping the original inlet manifold & fitting an aftermarket supercharger to the car, I'd think

Im just thinking about the appearance of the car .... it was rear ended but everything from the C-pillar forwards was missing.

The bottom line is that it was pulled out of a dumpster from a dealership just like all the other used parts on eBay. Some of the more ingenious schemes prefer to use the dumpster out of smash repair centre.

If he had half a clue then he would know that no insurance company would accept a car which had been tampered with.

Is the s/charger in a cl 55 the same as the one found in the c32 ????.

would be a nice mod if fitments were the same but added a few more horses.

No the C32 is a V6 and not a V8 - subtle difference of two less manifold inlets - the unit is cast alloy so wouldn't be easy to modify. IIRC the C32 IHI charger runs at a different pressure and also is disconnected at low rpm.

Thats exactly what i was thinkin but no dont think you can as said above :(

Put it this way - Kleemann want £12k + VAT to fit their supercharger to my car. They do do a V6 version which may be cheaper!

Kleemann Kompressor

I believe the C32 AMG has strengthened internals to run the supercharger - con rods etc even if you could just plumb one in and change the ECU.

A used engine would be ideally suited to the task and cheaper.

Yea its a stupid price

a mate of mine is got a C320 he went to Carlsson and they said they could fit a superchager for £10K + VAT it would up the power from 220bhp to 300BHP Torque from 310nm to 400nm @ 3,000rpm, impressive but its way too much money

"This very high performace forced induction supercharger which is hand built in germany stuttgart can also be used in project cars but it is hard to do. In the berkshire region i am confidant that it works i would even fit it for £500. "

Fit it to what?

The only thing it`s suitable to be fitted to is the car from which it came...

The blower is only one part of the system - think of all the dozens of other parts that a supercharged AMG has that a "normal" V8 does not.Air ducts,MAF sensors,ECU,intercooler etc etc....The intercooler alone would be more than the £500 he says he can fit it for.And then the engine itself,a blown AMG probably has uprated crank, rods pistons......

Its not simply a bolt-on Max-Power accessory....

:( Someone always comes along and brings bad news ;)

I guess thats why the real blower upgrades go for silly money £10k+

Hang on a mo, where's the intercooler go? I know naff all about superchargers but it appears to bolt directly on to the, or rather in place of the inlet manifold?

Hmmmmmmm, no I think I definitely know naff all about plumbing these things in.

Still, how wrong can things go?!

And another thing - either the guy's got a can of Mr Super Muscle or that thing hasn't actually seen the dirty side of a car bonnet - looks brand new.
