AMG Supercharger

Not all superchargers need 'intercoolers' (heat exchangers) - some have them built in as well - the Kleeman unit IS literally a bolt on; add a pulley and plumb it in, remap the ECU but otherwise that's about it.

Fit it to what?

The only thing it`s suitable to be fitted to is the car from which it came...

The blower is only one part of the system - think of all the dozens of other parts that a supercharged AMG has that a "normal" V8 does not.Air ducts,MAF sensors,ECU,intercooler etc etc....The intercooler alone would be more than the £500 he says he can fit it for.And then the engine itself,a blown AMG probably has uprated crank, rods pistons......

Its not simply a bolt-on Max-Power accessory....

Spoilsport - I was just getting interested in this as well ;)

Realist ,maybe....

It could be done, anything is possible but it would be a huuuge job - and very expensive.

Go on - have a punt on it.Just get it in writing that the seller can fit it to your car for £500 (and working!!) or your money back..... ;)

lol - love to try to call in on that promise!

still - must work out cheaper than kleeman ...

As he states it's for a CL55 I presume the £500 fitting is for that car so really wouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, that was my original point - its only really a viable proposition to be fitted back into another CL55.

Now,i wonder how many CL55`s there are at the moment that need a supercharger..........

It can be fitted to any M113 based V8 engine - though obviously less modification is required for the NA 5.5l.

And here's a picture of that supercharger (not that exact one) in a W208 CLK55

Super charger

Strange, if the part was changed under warranty surely it must belong to MB?
Unless MB are now selling as new 2nd hand parts one careful owner.
:bannana:

Parts are quite often written off during an audit and thrown away.

Could I fit one and a half on my engine. :D

It will only fit a merc V8 as the type used in the current SL/CL range. The outlet ports from the supercharger have to match the inlet ports of the heads. A C320 is a V6. A bolt on kit from Carlsson and the like is the best, easist and the safest bet.
