android phone issues

so know i have got this far with my attempt to get music off my phone

2012 e class 220 comand
galaxy edge s6

i plug into the multi pin in the glove box then connect my phone via usb then search for media , it comes up with the phone model on screen then when i click on that in attempts to connect with the spinny ball for ever!!!

what am i doing wrong?

Why don't you connect through Bluetooth that's how I do it in mine

At 0:25 on the video I linked what does your show when you select Audio??

it does not have the audio option on the nav screen it seems
