Android replacement for Comand...

I just got a Traveliner 115 CDI with all the fancy bits. I had the dealer fit a parrot bluetooth module (steering wheel controls still work) but I couldn't overcome the nagging feeling that the Comand 2.5 didn't meet it's potential.

There was no A2DP support, the keypad buttons on the Comand didn't affect the phone, and the video didn't work and all that stuff.

Then I came across the DYNAVIN Android/WinCE modules - plays DVD's, 2 SD card slots and all that! Wow... I was going to try and get the video-in working and get a car-computer of some kind and maybe fit my own touch screen.... but the 'DYNAVIN 7" Mercedes Command APS W164 X164 ML GL N' (ebay search) looks pretty darn tootin!

I hope it (or one of them) works fits mine.

I'm still trying to find out what W### my vehicle is...

Thanks for the thread tip - I didn't spot yours cos I searched on Android. I wouldn't buy CE.

Hi - it's a W639.

The old shape (front wheel drive) Vito / V Class was the W638.

I think I'll stick with the Comand. But it annoys me that they haven't done this.
