Which Android tablet should I buy, seems to be endless choice on Amazon, are the Chinese ones to be avoided?

Nexus 7. High spec, good value cost and runs the latest version of Android.

I've yet to see a bad review. I have one and am very happy with it.

What do you want to use it for? That will decide whether to look at 7 or 10 inch. 7 inch market is currently wrapped up by the nexus. 10" again depends on use. Asus transformer can be used as a laptop replacement. Have tried 2 of the cheaper offerings. Both had horrible touchscreens.

Nexus 7, amazing piece of kit. Avoid the cheap ones running acient versions of Android.

I have a Nexus S and its still getting firmware updates waaay before other manufactures to the latest OS.

So is ice cream sandwich the one to have?

I just need a 7 inch tablet, it's only for reading barcodes/stock control so something with a USB socket.

Currently typing this on a nexus 7.... Get the 16gb one and you'll love it.

I have had a galaxy 7 inch and its excellent.

All my meeting papers are emailed and has everything you could want including a phone .

It fits in to my jacket pocket as well so not walking around the size of an A4 sheet of paper in my hand

No GPS and there's compatibility issues with some Gameloft games from what I can see.

Not much in the way of mainstream reviews for this item, so I assume that it's somewhat non-standard. A bit like buying a jailbreak iPhone.

Personally I'd avoid, but I can see the appeal of it being a bit cheaper.

Another one here for the Galaxy 7". Just the right size to still be handy yet give useable display.

I'm not sure any of these will work satisfactorily for bar code scanning in all honesty.

Personally I'd use a wireless dedicated bar code gun combined with some software for the job in hand.

ive got the galaxy pad and love it

the 10.1 pad 2 is at tesco now for £200

nexus is good, as google own android you should always get the latest android version

I've had my Samsung 7" for almost two years now and I still use it everyday. Its fine scanning barcodes, although if I was buying again now I'd go for the nexus, quality kit at a good price.

A pal of mine is bringing out a Nexus 7 for my daughter on Saturday.

Quite looking forward to it.

I brought an Eken in the end, only because it had a full size USB port, thanks for all the advise.

Mine works fine on barcodes and qcodes.

No plans to change it
