Any quick and easy way to set up a new router with existing devices?

Maybe this SONOS Support article will help in getting a resolution?

Thank you.

I didn't remember that to change over networks with Sonos you need to use the original device (ie mobile phone) on the original network, change the router settings and then switch on the new router!

I tried reconnecting the BT router but once the Sky router had been plugged in BT one refused to connect Up to this point the BT Hub had been happily working with the Sky broadband.

I had to reset the Sonos beam, speakers and subwoofer to factory settings but it still isn't working as before. The subwoofer isn't recognised at present.

There are a few SONOS Support articles that outline steps to take when changing routers that go through lots of different scenarios regarding availability or non-availability of a previous setup. Maybe worth a few minutes mouseing around their documents?

If that doesn't get you anywhere it would be worth giving their UK support number a call.

Indeed

That is the plan for Friday when I have some time to sit and read without being disturbed 😂
Laptops , tablet, heating control, telephone, TV's, security cameras and kitchen Alexa up and running!

Many thanks for taking the time 😊👍

Update :

I now have (virtually) all previous devices etc working.

The Sonos system was a bit of a challenge. Trying to get the correct button pressing sequence to make each component look for the new network was a pain. The only thing now not working as before is Alexa on the Sonos Beam.

I follow the instructions on the App, it connects to the Beam and then asks me to log in to my Amazon account, at this point it fails.

Irritating but I have the Alexa App and can use that on my 'phone or the Alexa in the kitchen to control the smart lights and plugs. 👍

One other question :

Would a Mesh system improve WiFi coverage or is the only advantage of Mesh the fixed SSID? It is difficult to ensure adequate WiFi in our house and I would rather not run cables.

Thank you all for the help so far 😎👍

I have a TP-Link Deco mesh system, and I can't fault it. You can use wired or wireless for the backhaul - if going wireless you obviously need the device to be within wireless range of another device. In my setup I have one Deco device wired to the router, and two others that connect to that one wirelessly, one upstairs and one downstairs, and I have complete coverage in every room. The single SSID and seamless transition between them is really nice.

Edit: Plus, each Deco device has sockets for wired devices, so the wireless device downstairs provides wired connections to my 3D printers (or it did until they went wireless too!)
