Another scam......

Forgive my ignorance but apart form the MOT date, the typos, the lack of explanation for the low mileage and the what and wherefore's about it being overseas, what is the clue to the scam? And 0 previous sales.

The price... ;)

This is always a giveaway:
For more details about my car and the payment please e-mail me only at: callgigi111@yahoo.co.uk !!!
I am of course talking about the use of multiple exclamation marks where one would have clearly sufficed! ;)

:D :D :D
Following on from this.

This vehicle is possibly being sold by the same seller:

At least the number plate IS genuine!

Would you want this number plate?

Perhaps the driver is a fast smoker  :)

So it is the case that the car is not being auctioned, the seller is merely using Ebay to advertise it at a low price of 3800 pounds and he wishes you to contact him via the relatively anonymous use of a yahoo account. From which I guess he woudl arrange a meeting at a neutral point.
But why the starting bid of 255 pounds?
I am puzzled because I thought I was reasonably okay at sniffing out wrong 'uns.

Wanna buy my 280SE?

Send £10k by Western Union to me and I'll deliver it tomorrow.

It shows 12 documents plus the owners wallet(?) in one of the pcitures. Some of the docs are obviously test certificates but I cannot work out what the others are. Nevertheless, depending on which country in which it has resided would it not need more certificates? Would not the owners name be on any of the documents.

I applaud your ability to spot them and am irritated that I couldn't see it myself at first.

P.S. I've always fancied an old 280 SE.

A simple case of getting some pics, highjacking an account (or setting one up using stolen details) and then waiting for someone to bite.

They usually request a deposit to be paid by elecronic means and then disappear.

If 5 people bite - 5x the result.

Scam complete.

On the auctions it also mentions escrow.

Lots of escrow scams...

To me the biggest warning is he instruction to contact the seller outside of the Ebay umbrella? I always thought this was contrary to the rules of selling, but Nelson has better vision to spot infringements with his blind eye!

This car can be regularly seen driving around the centre of F%^*$&(m, Kent at high speed. The leather is the same colour as the exterior and the gentleman owner has cropped hair and large muscles. Accordingly I make no derogatory comments about his vehicle or driving whatsoever.;)

I have read that too, there was a woese case more recently I think the guy actually got assalted, robbed and landed up in hospital, I think! Not sure were I heard that though...:o

Also some of the cars you see that are cheap, can be advertised else where, my mate was looking at a car for £6k I thought it was very cheap so went to autotrader found the same car for £18k

So it was a bargain then? Should have bought it.;) I've sold my car to a nice man in Nigeria you know. He was a bit dim actually! He sent me loads more than the car was worth to cover tranport, then one of his mates picked it up anyway!! Hopefully the cheque will have cleared next week...
