Hi everyone,

After looking through my vehicle history, it would seem the V5 states a different engine number to the one MB have and from the datacard.

Any ideas why?

There are other additional items that do not add up....i.e like the V5 not stating it is a ML 270 CDI. Just written down as Mercedes Estate.

I hope anyone can shed some light before I give the DVLA a call, or is it worth it?

I think I would pester DVLA and MB.
Could cause problems when you sell it if you say to an enquirer, "don't know why engine is not the same" They jump in their car and drive off thinking they smell a rat.

If you input your VIN chassis no into this site it will give you details of your car's build spec from the factory. the entry Номер двигателя is your original engine no.

MB have the original number on the invoices and on the V5 it is different. The number is only 7 characters I believe.

Does anyone know where I can see the engine number is located on the engine? I may have a look.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I really do appreciate it. :thumb:

I have seen two Vins for my vehicle WDC1631132A*****7 and WDC1631132A*****7 5. What does the 5 mean, anything? The russian site only lets me put everything in apart from the 5. The vehicle doesn't have the 5 on it. The same with the V5, only the datacard and the MB invoices have the 5.
