I am having a strange problem. If I phone a number and after I have ended the call , a while later if I try to phone the same number again, I get a message ' number not recognized-contact the operator'. I am at a loss as to how re-phoning a number , it later becomes unavailable.

Curious as I've had similar recently..
What phone and which network?

Sounds silly but my first goto with any phone problem is to turn it off, wait a few minutes then turn it back on again. May not work but what have you to lose?

Could be a network problem
Is it just that handset or others?

Another full reset is to take the SIM out, turn the phone on, then off and then reinsert SIM and turn back on.

Network may send you a replacement SIM as oddly, this can be the issue (just had this solution on my daughter's O2 iPhone)

The phone is a Huawei P smart on a Tesco contract (O2, in other words)

O2 here as well but a Pixel phone

My daughter, on O2, had invalid SIM repeatedly until a replacement SIM cured that.

Weird
Call them and see if they offer to send one out - it might work

But all here being on O2 may not be a coincidence.....

It's a Huawei , so the Chinese government is spying on you , tracking you and sucking up everything from your phone , 24/7.

I am wearing my red 'Santa' Tin foil hat . It is my favourite.
