Looked at my rear tyres this morning and they are shot, chunks coming out the middle so i need these replacing. Currently have the Sport Contact 5P all round (MO) but iv always thought the sidewalls were a bit soft.
The Sport Contact 6 are supposed to be much improved but can't find the MO versions, would it be ok to fit these on the rear and keep the 5P on the front?

Continental Tyres / Car / Continental ContiSportContact 6 Continental Conti Sport Contact 6 - 255/35 R19 (96Y) XL FR TL Fuel Eff.: E Wet Grip: A NoiseClass: 2 Noise: 73dB Car Tyres - MPV Tyres - People Carrier Tyres - 19" R19" - 255/35/19, 255/35R19

Any help is appreciated looking at ordering ASAP

I dont see why it would be a problem providing the ratings are all the same and as per original tyre ratings. That excludes the MO property - I always understood keeping to that is not necessary.

Thanks mate, yes the current 5P are 96Y XL too, was just a little worried about the MO and if i needed them, good to know now. I used to own a DC5 years back, great cars!
Anyone else got any feedback on the Sport Contact 6? I sort of want to get the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S but my fronts are nearly new so don't really want to have to switch front and back.

The car I should be shortly acquiring has MPSS on the rear and appears to have Conti Sport 3s on the front - it has me slightly curious to be honest. The fronts apparently have decent trend but the outer edges looked slightly cracked so I think these might be the original and the MPSS are new. The car is 2015 with 11k miles on so possibly that is a correct assumption...I just find it odd if MB shipped the C63 with Conti Sport 3s ? I havent raised the query yet with the dealer

Honda kicked out some epic motors in the late 90s, 00s :-). Saw a new NSX recently - looked lovely!

Just buy Michelin pilot sport 4 s and then never have to worry about anything. Amazing grip and wear rate, in cold/wet weather too. I had MPS4S on the rear and Dunlops on the front for 6 months and it made no difference to driveability, I just didn't push the front too hard.

No, you need a 30 profile for 19" (255/30/19) and ensure you have a garage who will fit tyres not supplied by them.

You can also run 265/30/19.

Not necessarily. Try some tyre sites where you can enter your registration and then choose the 19 options. This is W204 right? Michelin gives :

Yep W204.
That's perfect mate cheers. Il get the 255/30 PS4S ordered later today.

Conti 6 & PS4S are both great tyres that have received good reviews. I find that the PS4S has a “softer” sidewall compared to other tyres I’ve had fitted, but they do perform superbly well. Other options are the Goodyear Eagle 3’s which are great all rounders and for a few pennies more the Yoko AD08R’s for dry weather grip....

I have these on my Chimaera 450 and they work really well on road and track in the dry. However, I am not sure I would trust them with 500BHP on tap on a slightly greasy surface.

Can anyone confirm if this setup works without them catching on the arches going over bumps or with a full car etc??
Also in case of an accident, will my insurance still be ok?

Front- Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245/30 R19 (89Y) XL TL
Rear- Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 265/30 R19 (93Y) XL TL

Can anyone confirm 265/30 fit without rubbing?
From searching some people saying they rub when car is full, some saying they are perfect. I have pp c63 saloon so not sure if they are a bit lower from standard.

Cheers

If yours is a pp?? So I’m assuming it’s a pre facelift pre 10 plate. It will have stiffer suspension so I would say you’ll be fine.

Mine is a performance pack on a 12 plate (not sure why it says 2011 under my username!), £410 fitted for the rears and no refunds so just want to be 100% sure before i get them ordered.

It’s a ppp then so you may or may not have an issue with rubbing as the ppp wasn’t fitted with stiffer suspension as standard as far as I’m aware.

Cheers mate, i didn't know i had a PPP lol, i'm sure it says P30 PP on the spec sheet.
Anyway, il play it safe and stick with the stock 255/30!

Your car should have the extra bhp than a standard c63. Red calipers and a grey intake plenum under the bonnet. If you’ve got the spec sheet you will see what suspension is fitted but I’m sure the later ppp cars didn’t come with the stiffer suspension option. Reason being.....it was bloody uncomfortable!!
