Excellent, they give you the VIN , that would freak them out at the Stealers .....
Go in and buy something cheap and then when they say can i have your VIN, rattle off the SLR number .....

Wonder if it would upset them if I asked about the recall:
"DaimlerChrysler has announced that it is recalling 2005 and 2006 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren models due to a problem with the electrical system. The 617-hp car with a top speed of 208 mph could catch fire due to the high temperatures generated in the engine compartment causing the alternator to fail. So far, no fire or accidents have been reported. The recall affects 433 vehicles in the United States, and will involve replacing the alternator and installing a modified control unit. Vehicles elsewhere in the world are being dealt with as well."
