Hi all, i am near Bath.

I need a mobile mechanic who knows R129 inside out as I am at my wits end with it.

If I don't get it fixed soon I will just scrap it as tried to give it away and didn't get any interest.

They really are pieces of cr*p. Mind you having experienced Mercedes dealer s quite a bit the last year or so why am I surprised?

I probably need some kind of car whisperer but a recommended Mercedes experienced mechanic has to be a good start?

You don't need a mechanic, you need an auto electrician to remove that dodgy alarm. If you were nearer to me I'd do it for you.

Maybe worth a try ... Should have looked at it from that angle. Thanks ...

I had the same alarm on my 96 e300.

Unlock the car with the ir key, but take too long to try and start the car and the horn will sound. Needless to say I ripped that out when it started to play up.

Dealer fitted scorpion alarm iirc.

I think it's something more basic that's gone wrong. Can't see any alarm box about or sensors.

It's strange but patience run out now.

I will get an electrician out this week. No luck and I will sell as non runner and lose the money. Shame but no point in having it and it's really peed me off now.

Best of luck with it, it will be something really simple that's causing it.

fyi, my alarm module was up behind the dash, stuck to the side of the heater. No markings on it, just a plain black housing. You could see where the wiring had been altered in the drivers footwell, under the mat.

I had no flashing lights on the dash, or any other reminder it was there, untill you forget and trigger it.

Thanks ... Have contacted a couple tonight so fingers crossed.

Not many in my area typically!

Sorry to read this, Paul, as it all started so well. Good luck, hope it gets sorted.

Thanks Mike ... It is very frustrating because I just dont have the time to sort it and have spent so much money now.

I thought i might have the answer to the cutting out and to get the horn issue when changing a battery is a huge frustration.

If it hadnt have happened i could have tried all the new parts.

Will try a bit more but i am so deep in now ... Its worth nothing as is.

More serious things can happen in life i suppose :)
