Armoured W126

There's got to be a business opportunity for that car surely?

High security executive cars maybe?

That's definitely a good idea, if I were a moderately successful radio DJ I would love nothing more than to be taken about in a W126/tank!

Question is.... if you were a person concerned about your safety.... would you use dial-a-ride services from the Yellow Page?

I guess it depends how high profile and wealthy they may be.

I meant if you feared for your life enough to need an armoured car, would you trust an unknown hire car driver, i.e. would you get into the car with this driver, it would be a great opportunity for any assassin....

True, it would take time to build a reputation.

However whilst building that reputation you'd feel safe whilst driving through Brixton and Southall.

I'm thinking Jason Statham.

Ohhh, armed robbery getaways, there's another market.

Wonder what the acceleration is like and I guess the range is going to be very limited with all that weight!

I met a chauffeur who'd driven armoured 126's in London back in the day. I don't know which engines though.

He said they went well but you could definitely feel the weight. And the windows were stupid cos you could open them but then a buzzer went off until you closed them.

Met another guy whose business was asked to strip out the armouring on some of them. He said they ended up high up in the air like 4x4's.
