Hi peeps.....

my W203 - six months old has been perfect up to this week, however....

Put some shopping in the boot the other night go in and started her up only to notice that the boot release switch was lit. Pushed it and nothing so I got out and tried to open boot with the key fob and boot handle - alas no joy. Needed my briefcase so got round to the dealership who after a bit of firm pushing on the lid manged to get it open. All seemed cured. The techie advised that I should book it in for them to have a look. Cool. Subsequently we now get malfunction warnings about the rear number plate light failing and the bootlid sometimes fails to lift. You can here the mechanism trying to disengage when you push the key fob.

I then pointed to the guy another fault which I was going to mention at the first service. The black rubber seal at the top of the windscreen is about half an inch short on the near side. He looked and sounded surprised at this however as we looked around the car park the C Class I parked next to had the same fault. Almost like the rubber has shrunk.

Anyone had any experience of either of these problems before I book the car in?

Thanks

OMG , i had both these faults on mine too....

Get the windscreen rubber replaced under warranty . Yes , it has shrunk. Mine was replaced ... but only after i had to pull rank on the guy with one of dads friends at the dealership.

Tonight , my number plate light came on as well :O don't tell me the boot is going to start not opening :O

But , get the seal replaced
