at last...had my transmission replaced

hi all,
for months now and my transmission is hell (engine revs up while shifting),after consulting many transmission gurus here they all told me that the transmission is shot.
I went to scrap and replaced it with identical one (as per the indy).
here are some data I got from the two transmissions:
The old transmission part number: 124 270 48 00 722 428 0 3670083

The new transmission part number (of course not new but in good condition):
202 270 06 00 722 427 0 3573685

it is obviously clear that the new one came out of W202.
checked at local dealer for any changes in transmission gasket and filter,they told me both transmissions have the same gasket and filter.

shifting is smooth (smoother than the day I bought the car).
before retrofitting the transmission,the indy check for worn gears and he replaced the reverse gear with new one,the old one was rusted,he told me: 'All transmissions coming from Japan have the same thing,bad reverse gear,I don't know why!'
My question is :
from the provided part number of the new transmission,can I know the VIN of the donor car? I just want to know if it had the same engine CC (which is 2200CC) or not?
any suggestions would be much appreciated

Can't get as far as the VIN, but WIS suggests the donor was a 202.125 C250 diesel with an OM605.910 engine, which is a 2.5 litre unit. The car must have been 1996 or earlier, as (according to Wikipedia) the four-speed auto was replaced with the five-speed at that time.

didn't know that Diesel and Petrol engines could interchange transmissions.
 
No reason why not, I suppose. The ratio steps will be similar, and the overall gearing will depend on the final drive in the diff. No guarantees that what I said is accurate, that's just what WIS tells me.
