Audio 10 set up

Does anyone know how to alter the switch-on volume or the speed/volume ramp rate of the audio 10cd ?

Unit is fitted to a 2003 SLK 230. Switch on volume is inaudible, ie is not remembered from last use. Volume stays constant to about 60 mph, then increases by about 50% in one step - is this right ?

According to the manual :

Press the dp (that's the button with the music notes - but can't be bothered to use wingdings ) until TPV is displayed. Turn the rotary control. The difference in volume is indicated by the numbers 0 to 3.

Thanks, I knew about this TPV adjustment and it doesn't work. This only alters the volume during traffic announcements.

I've now been told that the baseline volume is only adjistable using the diagnostic equipment at a dealer. I find this a bit hard to believe - it seems a very complex solution to a simple and presumably common need. We'll see...
