aHi all, I'm back in the fold after a long long time. Still got my Discoveries and Fiat Coupes but now that we're grandparents, Mrs JB's Boxster is no longer suitable. We were offered a swapsie deal on an 11 plate s212, a 250, nice low mileage thing which drives very well so we did that as a strictly very temporary measure as the hunt is ongoing for a long-term keeper nice e350 saloon or preferably estate that's a facelift, not in black, white nor silver, isn't up on the miles, and is laden with goodies like dab, camera, streaming, nav etc.
We have a couple of long journeys in the next couple of weeks and because we aren't keeping this one, don't want to spend very much on upgrading the head unit etc. It is quite basic - fm radio, bluetooth phone calls, has no dab/streaming/aux in sockets/nav etc. I've done a fair bit of research, popped in to Lightwater to speak to the Command guys etc, honestly am a bit confused. It would be nice to have a slightly better setup as it feels a step backwards from our Disco 4 which has DAB, streaming, rear cam etc - and while the camera isn't an issue for a few weeks, the music is!
Anyone got any suggestions? I don't really want to pull the car half apart (am more than capable) nor throw 100's of pounds at a crappy chinesium screen. Considered using an fm transmitter as a quick cheap fix but it seems they are mono and rubbish. This is not my area, tech, to be honest, so I'm hoping someone out there has a bright idea?!?!?!
And....btw......glad to be back in a Benz!
