hello everyone I'm still here just been busy with mtb.

i need some advice on my gearbox, its 5sp auto with the usual S&W modes.
the cars now done 86000 and has full s,h.

the problem is now getting worse so before it goes to MB or an indie i need to know if its something my local guy can sort out.

i am getting the box jumping between 3rd to 2nd when braking to slow down/stop and sometimes it seems to get stuck in a gear and when i accelerate it jumps down a gear again and gives me a right good kick in the back, which is now really p***ing me off.
it doesnt happen all of the time but once it does it for the first time on a journey it proberbly happens 3-4 times more, worst case is at islands brake to slow if its clear foot down to go and wham kicked in the back just as if clutch dropped on a manual.

please can anybody shed any light thanks

Try resetting the gearbox. Might not do anything but there again it might. Do a search on gearbox reset.

Could be low ATF level causing this. You'd be best off getting the fluid changed at that mileage anyway.

Probably the MAF sensor going South. This can confuse the ECU and causes bumpy changes.
Also an ATF change MAY help but probably not.

I agree with Dieselman, my MAF sensor seems a bit dodgy, when the car is cold I get awkward changes and a slightly lumpy idle sometimes. Once the car is warmed up, no issues whatsoever.
