I have recently bought a E220 EDI 150,000 miles on a 08 plate from the drivers seat I could hear a sort of what I thought was a whirlingnoise around the front passenger wheel I had pads, disks & calipers changed but it's still there now to be told it could be the auto box, as its sounds louder when I remove foot from accelerator and the car is slowing

Does anyone have an idea I have been told to get Mercedes diagnostic done :dk::dk::wallbash: It is still under 3 month warranty

Check the handbrake cable isn't catching the propshaft. The retaining clips can break and its a similar noise.

If its still under warranty I'd get the dealer to make good any repair required and arrange the MB diagnostics.

Plug in diagnostics will reveal faults with things which are monitored electronically .

They won't reveal that you have a noisy wheel bearing or propshaft bearing , worn suspension bushes , or that your handbrake cable is loose .

For these things , you need an experienced mechanic with a good knowledge of that particular model - while a general mechanic who works on all makes might pick it up , equally he might not .

There's no substitute for going to a proper specialist who has served his time and really knows the cars and their faults .

I have been told it could be the torque converter
