I bought one of the autodim rear view mirrors for my SE today
I will get it in a week or so so will report on it.
Priced up new HT leads today and main dealer... £341 and they come in bits to put together yourself.
Distributer Cap £150
Rotor arm £38

Very pleasantly surprised at the underbonnet insulation was £41 but the Glue £30!!!

Where do they get these prices?

The HT leads come in bits but the workshop put it together before you have it.
They will probably charge for this.

I strongly recommend you go to Euro Car Parts, GSF, Andrew Page or similar for the HT bits. Get Bosch or Beru.

You want this glue ;)

oh dont let Euro fob you off with those cheap HT leads, ensure they are a good recognised brands... the cheaper ones fall to bits the first time you try to pull them off the plugs.

I have managed to get Mercedes boxed leads, dissy, sparks and rotor arm all bosch from a supplier I have used in the past in Australia called Bits4Benz - Genuine, OEM and Aftermarket Mercedes-Benz Parts (speak to Shane)
Total £250, including shipping, much better.. thats less than half the price of MBZ
Thanks for heads up on Glue I just ordered 3 cans

Those are excellent, ive got 2 of them.. but I went for the one without the compass as those look a bit "80's japanese"

Hi All,

On the subject of rear view mirrors, how does it come off? and the little sunscreen thing in front?
Just starting the pain in the **** sunroof removal, all drains completely rusted to bits!!
And whats the tube connected to the light assy?
Cheers

Rear view mittor just pulls off. Its got spring loaded things holding it on. Pull one side first then the other. That sunscreen thing, hmm doesnt it just unscrew once you take off the mirror? Cant think now. The tube is the air sampling tube, it goes to the tiny motor mounted by the glovebox. Its for the climate control temp sensor.
