Automatic transmission or manual in a sporty Merc?

You could argue that for 90% of normal driving and drivers an auto makes far more sense. Who wants a manual in stop start traffic queues for instance?

Probably 80% of new BMWs are auto now, look at the 0 to 60 for identical cars and the auto version is always quicker. Personally I prefer autos, especially with today’s roads and it doesn’t seem to put racing drivers off, giving up control of the clutch. So to each their own, and long may we have the choice.
