Hi there guys, my battery has gone and about to get a new one fitted, can anyone advise me if I will lose my radio due to lost ode etc, or are there any other functions I may lose during the battery change over??
As you may know I'm disabled and going to have to do this myself as can't get it to anywhere as she won't start. If anyone could advise me on a safe way to change it over I would much appreciate it. I have access to another battery source, could I connect this other battery by means of jumps leads, to the jumping port beside the battery and an earth point on the body, while removing the old battery and fitting the new one?
After all the problems I've had in the past its a very nervous situation I'm in I don't want to upset any electrical things
Thanks guys:confused:

Yes, that’s what I did last time I changed the battery except I used a battery charger, the spare battery and jump leads will work fine. Keep your keys out of the ignition while swapping the battery.

What year is the car?

What you propose should be fine - just be VERY careful with the battery terminals/spanners when doing the swap so you don't short the positive to ground while another battery is connected .

Its a 2003 c320 non compressor, auto estate. Lovely car, but the electrics scare me, hence asking for advice, as I'm sure all ports of problems could occur if the battery was totally disconnected???? Thank you very much for your help!!

Thanks!! Will for sure, take extra care with terminals, ill heave to wait for a day when I feel well enough to do it, the curse of old age and failing health!!!!!!!
Thanks very much for your help and advice
