Battery replacement

Sorry if this has been asked before, replacing battery in my 2004 C180K.
Can I just remove old battery without having to reset anything when new one is fitted, or should I use a memory saver of some kind?
Haynes says disconnect and replace but would appreciate a definitive answer from someone who knows, thanks.

You will have to re-normalise the windows and sunroof (if fitted), otherwise no need for anything special.

Keep car's memories.

If you don't want to get surprises , I give you my method to keep all memories. Use battery 9v with one wire solder, with at the end croco grip, on positif and an other solder to negatif. Then grip croco on battery wires + and - and then remove your battery. 9 volts It's enough to keep all the memories in order, not a long time. At the end don't forget to take off battery annexe.....
