Battery voltage.

That could be ok. The ‘smart’ charging allows it to charge at around 15 volts for a short time. If I didn’t use my slc for a while it could stay around 15 volts for a couple of hours.
On my Jeep it works pretty much as I expect - up to 15 volts on the overrun then down to around 13 volts as you accelerate. The Mercedes seems to keep the voltage high and then slowly reduce it over time to around 14.5.
If it were me, I wouldn’t worry too much. I would just keep an eye on it as the weather gets warmer and the battery is under less stress and see if the voltage comes down.
Also make sure that your voltmeter is accurate.

If it is labouring when turning over it might be worth getting the battery checked.

Hi All,

Many thanks for your help. I had a diagnostics done on the car, all be it expensive however the chap came out as opposed to waiting 3 weeks for a diagnosis, and found it was the battery (The battery was less than 2 years old). I have had this on the car for just over a week and its holding the charge well and the stop start works flawlessly. The voltage out put seems to range from 12.4 to 15.0 depending on conditions so no issues there.

If things change for the worst I will be in touch.

Again, many thanks for all your help. 👍

Regards

Marcus Romer
