That ad must have taken hours....

A lesson in how to sell a car on Ebay. Excellent advert.....I just wish I had the dosh available.

Beautiful car.

Probably not the sort of question buyers should/would ask, but what sort of MPG would you get from that V12?

Perfect for Sunday driving... one day. (zzzzzz)

Not as bad as you might think, if your sensible you can get 25mpg on a run but boot it and your down to 15.

I get about 18 as an average.:)

looks in great condition ...

Agreed.

Actually I remember this seller, there was a thread on here a couple of months ago, he was selling a CLK55 with about 80K on the clock, similar type of ad. I spoke to him about it as I was considering buying one but he was the most unhelpful dealer I have ever come across, very arrogant and a know it all, would hardly let me get a word in edgways!

There is a very small dent in the bonnet and two small marks on the boot as well as a hole in the boot carpet
The alloy wheels are doing quite well considering their 16 years on the road age however they can no longer described as perfect; these can be refinished to a totally ‘as new’ condition for around £45 each
As is the case with every car of this mileage that has not needed to have had a re-spray after an accident there are some very small stone chips and very fine scratches on the vehicle

Yes it's nice, but £12k is an awful lot IMO for a '93 car with 3 owners and pushing 90k miles (at the top it says 80k, but in the text it's 87,853 ...)

... (at the top it says 80k, but in the text it's 87,853 ...)

And that's if it hasn't moved at all in the last five months. Why tell porkies on something that the buyer is bound to notice when they view it

Agreed.

Oh I hate know-it-all car dealers, puts me right off buying a car from them but plenty of people seem to keep them in business!!

Agreed.

Yup IIRC the 55 wasn't anything like as good as the pics either

A friend of a friend made some inquiries on this actual car - I gather the reality is far different to the gloss presented by the advert!

Yup, I was very interested in that CLK55 he had for sale. It was actually bought by a member on here 'puffsorted'. The dealer wasn't that helpful, he just wanted me to pay the asking price and that was it, wasn't interested in getting it to a specilaist (Olly) for him to take a look at for me. The CLK55 was not as good as the ad made out either, still the SL looks good in the pictures!
