Afternoon all, I hope everyone is well. My car, 2009 W221, S320 CDI has a duff amplifier. Command screen works, sat nav works, air con controls etc, but no sound, no radio stations show and even though it has CDs in and recognises them, won't play or even attempt to.
Amp is the Becker BE 7021, Harman Kardon Logic 7 (A221 870 50 89, A221 870 18 89). I've put the fibre optic loop in various components, checked power etc and nothing working. I opened the top of the amp and there appears to be a small chip which has gone pop with a mini explosion (as you may have gathered, electronics aren't my forte).
I am going to contact both BBA Reman and also Command Online. But, before I do, and I try to review the archives thoroughly I think, is there any alternative (sensibly priced) to replace the BE 7021 that plugs in?
I suspect the answer is no, but thought I'd double check.
