what do you suggestThe usual cross climate suspects if you're in Scotland and driving "con brio."
If you're in the snow zone, it might be worth buying winter wheels & tyres, which are easily found on EBay from Germany.
thank you very muchIf you're going the 2nd hand route check the age of the tyres.
The German tyres would only be used during lower temperatures, so may well be a few years old.
Tyre rubber will harden with age, so even winter tyres, of over 4mm (their legal limit) might be as bad as those you are using.

When the car's traded in, the dealer will often sell the winter set separately, even though the wheels are less than four years old and with less than a couple of thousand miles of winter use. These were the wheels and tyres i meant. For this 2019 car, they might be five years old, but will still be in good order, as they'll have been stored inside and out of sunlight for most of the year.
As you said, only buy wheels and tyres having checked date stamp and condition, and take a view on the expertise and honesty of the dealer.
cheersGoodyear, Michelin or Dunlop.
I believe Dunlop are the cheapest but no different to Goodyear.

thanks for your help buddyYou won't go wrong with almost all the premium brands from Michelin Goodyear, Continental, Dunlop.
Just avoid Pirelli P Zero's. Very poor grip in the cold and damp. Even more so once they wear down to 4mm or less.
