Black Trim Detailer

I used some Autoglym SRP on my old company C Class centre console. You have to be careful not to use too much and end up with white dust everywhere, but a small amount on a soft microfibre worked. It partly takes out the scratches, partly fills them and leaves a sealant on the surface too. I'm not a big fan of SRP, but I had the bottle and it worked well. My own C Class has the black ash effect trim, so it's a bit easier to look after and keep looking good.

Nice job on the engine bay @Rubyred turned out well. Even if only us see it, I know it's nice to open the bonnet and see it looking good. I'm overdue giving our C200 a good clean as I didn't get round to it before Christmas, it's been parked at Gatwick long stay for a week as well, so who knows what has landed on the paint during our trip...

I've never considered using black trim detailer for the engine bay. Also I was concerned about the effects of high temperature on the surface finish.

I guess I will give it a go.

Time will tell on how the heat effects the newly blacked trim under the bonnet.
I dont use the car very often so won’t know for a while.

On another website I saw someone recommend toothpaste!...then it was trumped by a counterbid of peanut butter!
