bluetooth cradle adapter

Hi I have recently bought a 2008 E class 220 CDI but there was no Bluetooth cradle installed although there is a connector waiting for one in the center console. Before I buy I want to male sure that there is only one type. I would hate to spend £100 + to find it doesn't work. So does anyone know if there is only one type to buy . I have found several online with part numberB67875877. Is that the only one out there?

There are different HFP MB ones , and the range of vehicles that they will work in is not defined by the type of car but by the type of 'sound system' that is installed, or ViseeO might work . Well with your car being a 2008,you have the UHI fitting and so you can fit the MB cradle or one of the generic cradles ,or a cradle for you specific phone.for instance I had a while back a iphone 3 and had a dedicated cradle for it,the ViseeO system will fit as well.

I got a viseeo mb 4 off Chedder a member here a few wks ago , was well pleased connects more than one phone and has a usb charging port , good we bit of kit if you can pick a good used one up at right price , the guy Chedder on the forum I got mine off was very kind too me.

If you have an iPhone 4/4s I can let you have a UHI charging cradle for it at a very cheap price - had it in my S204 until we changed phones! Even have a spare iPhone 4 if you want a phone to leave in the car.

Do you have Comand? If so you do not need a cradle as Comand has bluetooth built in - my Galaxy A10 connects to my Comand system with nothing on the UHI connector! If it asks for a code, it's 62872.

I have comand with the uhi in armrest but can’t connect without
module fitted.

That's a surprise! my SLK has Comand NTG2.5 and no telephone pre-wire/UHI connector, and I've connected my Samsung Galaxy A10 easily, even downloaded my phone book easily. My S204 has Comand NTG4, has the telephone pre-wiring/UHI but I've removed the iPhone 4 cradle and again easily connected my A10, just went into the Phone menu and bluetooth Phones - Search For Phones (having made sure that Bluetooth was turned on on the A10), it found my phone, told it to Authorise and with the 62872 code it connected no problem, even did the same for wife's A10!

Not all 2008 cars are model year 2009 which is when built in BT was available from.

There are three types of HFP cradle the 5877 model, 6168 model and the 0000 model. All work with most phones.
The Viseeo MB4 is an alternative but the call quality and build quality isnt as good as the HFP.
