Hi. Im looking to add Bluetooth to my 2007 E280 elegance. I have this phone dock in the centre armrest. Does anyone know which part I need to buy to be able to connect my iPhone handsfree? Thanks.

I would look for an aftermarket unit that can replace your infotainment. From experience, by removing it you are not missing out on anything on those models as they had no vehicle specific settings. Lots of android head units you can go for.

This should do:

Seems to be out of stock at Comand Online, eBay should have them.

They only enable Bluetooth phone calls, not music streaming.

If you want music you will need to find an Aux input or swap the head unit out for a new android one

If you take the HU out you might find an Aux in socket to put a lead into as some did.

You could power an FM transmitter off the 12v but they can be hit and miss if you really do want to play music.

Some decent OEM like Android HUs are available for not silly money.....

The Viseoo does play through an iPod (remember them ) connected via a cable

As my W211 does not have the Aux socket I decided to by the Mr12Volt Bluetooth USB AUX adapter from eBay. I have fitted it and it sounds much better than the FM transmitter that was powered by the cigarette lighter. It's all hidden where the 6 disc CD changer used to be which means that I still have the original look. This will allow both phone calls and streaming of music/podcasts.

Cheers, yeah I also followed those instructions that came with the kit and saw that video too. Guess I'm in the 1% where its draining the battery. No worries, appreciate your reply though!

It might be worth contacting their support team about it. It shouldn't drain the battery though. When the ignition is off the unit does not/should not receive power.
