Bluetooth woes

Hello everyone,
I am a newbie for both Mercs and the site.

I have just purchased a 62 plated CDI 220 Sport Amg Estate, i am absolutely in love with this machine and its gadgets.
I have been a member of various sites over my car ownership Mondeo SToc, VW oc have proven to be invaluable when in need for specialist help and guidance, hopefully i can give a little back too.

However i am wondering if i can cheekily ask for some guidance in my first post?
I am trying to connect my iphone to the bluetooth system and cannot even get my iphone to find the mercedes, i have reset the car bluetooth MB ( which has now disappeared and on the emergency remaining).....
When i pressed the green phone button i can see name but cannot get any further?
I can see members discussing bluetooth modules etc....do i need one or is the car system needing an update?
I have no info or walk thru to carry out the comnection at all?
