Brabus Unimog.....

weird looking thing tho!

Looks like something from Judge Dredd! Got to be the slowest Brabus ever?

Hideous! Like the idea though.

Looks great!

Possibly, but it's not short of power:

"The Unimog generates an output of 205 kW/ 280 hp from an engine displacement of 6.4 l, developing a torque of 1100 Nm." :D

It's in MEM this month. I'm getting my copy tonight if our WHSmith has any left (I would hope so - not many people round here with taste :D).

Wow, this year went on holiday to Turkey with the family, and went on a Unimog safari. Where these can go is unbelievable.they can assent/ descend almost vertical slopes. This version must be the ultimate in big boys toys. :bannana: :bannana:

That's not a lot for a 12 tonne vehicle with the aerodynamics of a garden shed (hence the top speed of just 75-ish mph)!

Quite cool looking though ;)

Bumping this thread because I was talking to Ian about it this evening and he hasn't seen it.

I seem to recall attempting to make a "superdeformed" (baby-car type) picture of this and failing due to it already looking like one.

There is a firm near here that runs a fleet of Unimogs. They are Tractors. They are slightly easier and faster on the road than tractors of 10 years ago (pre "fast road" tractors), but they are agricultural machines all the same.

They don't handle, they dont ride, they drive over muddy fields.

Hang on.

Thats only the same as every school-run 4x4...

Looking for the right tool for the job, ignore all the other characteristics and go for style over substance and buy a 4x4.

(I've sold my Range Rover btw :D )

The ultimate SUV destoryer I would have one in my lottery-win stable.

A close friend of mine used one when he worked for the national trust on the east coast and loved driving it.

"With a gross vehicle weight of 11.99 tonne"

Does that not make it a class 2 lgv or is it a agricultural machine????

popps

I can always remember the very first military Unimog's competing against our British Landrovers. How embarrassingbut they were certainly not overly big beasts and nor were they Brabus modified:D It just seems an obscene waste of money but if Chris Eubank drives around in an even less economical 6x4 then who am I to criticise  :D At least the unimog is a Merceedes :)
