After 21/2 of happy v8 ownership it's time to move on,collecting my new e350cdi sport saloon tommorrow so giving the cls one last wash....

I think you will miss the V8 a lot.

You probably wont miss the economy one bit... :D

Good luck with the new car
Cheers Steve-if it proves as good as the cls i'll be a happy man!

I will definately miss the v8 John, but less visits to the shell garage & not having to give Swansea £475 a year for road tax softens the blow a bit:D

And there's my problem! I know I should move mine on, but I love the shape and "feel" of it so much I'm not sure I CAN let it go - except for another one! LOL!

I did look at the new cls the other week but i really don't like it nearly as much apart from the cabin to be honest......

My feelings exactly! I really like the interior of the 218, but the shape, jury's still out for me... But, a Grand Edition 219 is still tugging at me.. :D

I know, but the mileage is a bit high for me.... :(

....that 650i Jay has is a tasty looking car though.. :D :ban:

I have been lucky enough to spend a good bit of time in E350 CDi's and the engine is magnificent, but it struggles in one vital area,,,,,,,, to sound as sonorous as a V8 merc engine :)

Your still a very lucky guy though,,, Best wishes with her.

Thanks for the heads up Derek-will be hard to leave the v8 & it's soundtrack but it's given me 21/2 years of joy & time to move on.....

The latest Blue efficiency engine is incredible it returns better economy than the 2.1 CDi did on the C class back around 2004 or so I have a client who had that very combo a 2004 C220CDI auto and now a stunning black E350 CDi sport and LORDY me it is frugal. Hence my choice to now switch to Merc myself
