Hi,

I'm new to this forum as I've just got my first Mercedes today. It's a 2005 (55) C180 Classic. I have a question regarding using a mobile phone with the car.

Firstly I'm not sure if the car is set up for it, as I can figure out you either have a connector in the centre console or bluetooth. I don't have anything in the centre console. I'm unsure whether I have bluetooth. I have an Audio 20 head unit.

Could anybody tell me what I need to do to use the steering wheel controls etc to make calls or check whether it has bluetooth. It's all a little confusing.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards

Neil

Thanks.

I don't have anything on the centre console. Is it possible to have anything fitted? Or is that silly money?

It is expensive to retrofit the phone pre-wire. To get an idea of the price see: Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes Phone/Bluetooth :: Phone System Retrofit Kits That is just for the parts. You will also need a bluetooth cradle. Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes Phone/Bluetooth :: Cradles & Bluetooth Adapters

If you want a quote including fitting send a message to forum member Alfie from Comand Europe. As you cant PM email him direct at: [email protected]

You can alternatively add an aftermarket bluetooth kit like Parott but you wont be able to control it via the steering wheel. Parrot UK. Bluetooth hands free car kit, Zikmu wireless speakers for iPhone, photo frame - Parrot.com

There is a company who claim to do a aftermarket bluetooth kit that works like the Mercedes one and uses steering wheel controls. I believe Alfie @ Comand Europe was going to look into offering them. Original Bluetooth Car Kits
