I planned to get c250 CDI. I tested the performance is much better than c180. But the price for both slightly different. C250 power is much better. Anyone could advice me..

The 180 engine is weedy. Get the 250 and have no regrets.
In fact, I suggest the C63 which is a lot of fun;)

Are you comparing diesel against petrol? C180 is a 1.6 petrol and no way near the power of a C250cdi. The equivalent petrol engine is the C250 which is 1.8 petrol engine. Both the C250 and C250cdi produce the same power but different torque figures, the former having 310Nm and the latter with 500Nm .

If you are considering second-hand, then note that second-hand petrol C-Class are generally unloved/unwanted (unless C63.....) hence why the C180 will be much cheaper second-hand than any CDI of similar spec/trim/year.

The perception is that Diesel is more frugal, and the older the car the more likely that the potential buyer will have budget and running-costs in mind hence why petrol is generally shunned.

This may change if Diesel falls out of favour due to taxation/emissions etc, but for now second-hand petrol C-Class (from 180 to 250) offer great value compared to Diesels.
