hi all need to pep up my c180 esprit 1.8 any ideas. has anyone chipped one? is it possible? does it work? getting peed off by being outdragged by vans at the traffic light grand prix.(miss my 190e 2.3 16 valver) regards ken

i had a c180 kompressor as a courtesy car today and that went well considering.......my 230 kompressor was in today £1050 to get it fixed.......NICE...and that might not fix the problem

You've got a problem here.

Senario:
You; relatively low power n-a petrol engine. (read no torque).
Van; average power turbo diesel (read good torque over wide range).

Solution:
Answers on a postcard..

I had a C180 Esprit not so long ago.
I had it chipped, put a green cotton air filter in it and added a 'Powerful' (name of it) exhaust from euro car parts.

I went on the first German gtg and it went well.

I have a mate who has a garage near me if you fancy chipping. He did my E55

A K and N filter will help throttle respose and make it feel a bit better, chipping and running it on Optimax will add about 10% more power and it will feel not bad for a C180 (I know I did all of the above to my last car) but at the end of the day you either go nuts like Koolvin and turbo the thing or you buy a faster car.HTH

just sold my 2.3 16v cossy. also got a bmw 318is twin cam 140bhp.i just thought that having 122 bhp the old merc would be a bit quicker off the mark . still i notice its better on fuel.must get the cbr honda out and get the rush that way..her indoors said i am getting too old for this speed thing.
