I'm going to advertise my car, however there is a very large variation in price for my model;

was on a 54 plate C180 Kompressor 1.8 auto Avantgarde estate, (sport?) fully loaded ex demo, leather, wide rear wheels, towbar etc.

96k FSH, just had disks and transmission service, superb car, satnav up to date etc.

Any thoughts, bad pic attached

Thanks Phil

Start the bidding about 2K, but be prepared to accept less.
I got to this price after looking at actual end of auction completed sale prices on ebay.

The blacked out windows will probably put people off yours though.

2004 would be the facelift which is a much better car than the earlier W203s, with improved interior (and COMAND NTG2).

This, plus it being an estate, should help fetch a good price. Also leather and COMAND are relatively rare (most will have Artico and Audi 20).

The M271 petrol engine will work against it though, people who buy 10 years old cars tend to look for small Diesel engines, the C200 CDI or better still C220 CDI is the engine of choice for W203 buyers. Rightly or wrongly the 2.1L Diesel engines are perceived as most frugal.

Never easy valuing any car really! Go onto Whatcar and get a valuation and also webuyanycar, they will give you a start point. Then look for similar cars on autotrader for further guidance. Whilst we all think our cars are exceptional most people think of them as a lump of metal to do a job.........it's worth what someone is willing to pay but the above should help give you some idea.

Thanks guys

The reason I'm asking is the that one of the guys at the garage that look after it has offered me £2800 and when I looked on ebay and Autotrader the prices varied hugely, its a difficult one. I thought it might be a low price as its a garage but I suppose he'll know how good it is so it may be a good price!!!

As m500dpp said, check webuyanycar.com.

Assuming your car is 'as described', you should get for it at the very least what WBAC offer.

Keeping in mind that if you did take your car to them they would have knocked off the price any slight discrepancy between your description and reality....

And if you do not contact them following the quote, in two weeks time you will receive an email from them saying that your car just went up in value....

I would say that for a private sale of a car of this age, around £300 to £500 above WBAC valuation is fair.

Thanks for the help guys

Just checked them out

WBAC, £2590
Glasses Private sale price from £3,340.00 to £4,260.00,

Decision made I'm going to advertise it at £4k with its plate, if it doesn't sell I'll let the guy at the garage have it.

Cheers
Phil

If that's a 3x3 pre 1963 plate, It's probably worth £600 +
I'd sell the car for a easy £2800 or tell him you want £3k and sell the plate separately.
Whoever buys the car, the plate might be of no interest so won't appreciate it as part of the price/package.
