I have read other threads and am still a bit confused, so I apologise for creating another thread.
My C200 has the Garmin Map Pilot Sat Nav. I updated the software on the Mercedes Downloader in the mistaken belief that I was getting updated maps and so discovered that as others have said you get screens that look like you went back in time, not forwards.
The maps stayed the same, version 5 2015/16. I asked the dealership about it and they said go onto the Garmin site, so I did. I already have Garmin Express on my PC but when I put the card in the PC card reader Garmin Express gave me a message saying this device is not supported.
Can someone tell me, is it categorically correct that you only get free MAP updates for the first 60 days? (contrary to what the Norwich dealership told me), I found that hard to believe - even my wife's Polo gets them for the first 3 years.
Does that mean in effect I have to periodically buy a new SD card, even though my vehicle is only just 2 years old? (or of course get a new Tom Tom or whatever?)
