E220 coupe 2012
Hi everyone
I have a 2012 C220 Coupe (125k miles) and have been having an increasing number of electrical problems over the 3 year ownership.
Seatbelt presenters not working properly - stuck out etc
Clock cycling around to reset on start
Thought I just had a bad one with some serious underlying problems. First Mercedes so was starting to question the quality and reliability.
Over the summer, started the car and the anti-theft protection enabled came up on the central Comand screen so no radio, cd, phone or nav.
I made some enquiries and was suggested that the memory on the unit is probably corrupt and I will need a new / replacement unit so haven't done anything further with it.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, car wouldn't start and when I tested the main battery, it was down to 11.8 volts so replaced this - no warnings about the battery failing prior to this.
Now all the electrics are behaving themselves - even have start stop working for the first time since I have owned the car!
Only remaining problem is the Comand still goes into the anti-theft mode.
I'm thinking this may be a result of the poor electrics and wondering if the unit can just be re-coded to the car and how I would go about it myself or where to get this done.
Its the original unit for the car as far as I know and worked fine for the first 2+ years of ownership.
Can anyone assist on this please? I am technically competent but only have a simple code reader at the moment so guessing I would need a more advanced tool to do this myself but unsure what I would need.
Appreciate any assistance - based in Sudbury, Suffolk.
