Hi All,
Been having trouble with my CL63 randomly not starting. It was in the garage for a week and started every single time. So anyway, I’ve changed the crank and cam sensors, had the starter motor looked all for safe measure. Since taking the car back, it started playing up again after a car wash.
Without thinking it was water issues, I’ve sent the key module away to be looked at and repaired yet they can’t find anything wrong with that either.
So I’ve change the A pillar trim inside the car as it was damaged, went to take the old one off and it was soaking wet. It’s wet all the way down to the floor. So obviously I have a blocked sunroof drain or faulty seal. I’ll look at that when I get my key module back to open it. I’ve also checked the 4x drains in the shuttle panel and 3 of them were blocked.
However, can this wetness cause issues with the car wanting to even try and start? Are there any modules under the carpet/in the A pillar area?
I’m only asking as the issues I’ve got have been since the cold/wet weather. Seems a coincidence, but it was fine for the week at the garage in the dry, fine for the 2 days after picking it up, but then played up after I’ve had it washed!
The fault I have is the key turns, all lights come on the dash just like normal, and can hear a whirl under the car (assuming this is the fuel pumps), but the car will either not crank, mostly crank on and off (almost like a timed signal), just crank and crank without starting, or start perfectly normal!
Any ideas?
