C220 Estate AMG (W204) - raising the ride height

Hi all,

Got the standard C220 Estate AMG (13 plate) with 17" wheels.

Nice easy question: is it possible to raise the ride height a bit - say 10 to 15 mm?

Just really bored of continually scraping the bottom of the car!

Thanks.

Anything's possible....but not always practical. 10 - 15mm is the difference between yours and the SE/Elegance spec 204s suspension height, so it follows that changing springs, shockers, possibly anti-roll bars etc to SE / Elegance spec would give you the extra height you need. However the cost of doing this would be horrendous and if you are in the habit of scraping the bottom of the car, a 4 x 4 might be more appropriate for these types of roads.

I had a 204 Sport Estate for 18 months and never, ever scraped the bottom of the car, although maybe you use farm tracks a lot?

I have an Elegance, and not bottomed out once even when hitting a nasty full width speed bump faster than I'd hoped.

Maybe you could get springs from an Elegance or something. Also my wheels are only 16 inches 205/45/16

I had my S204 Sport, with 17 wheels, for 3 years and never bottomed it out, even on some pretty vicious speedy bumbs in our local Tesco and the council tip (often carrying quite a fair bit of weight).

we have a w204 2014 that bottoms out on the speed bumps in our road, our previous w204 2012 did not. Curious?

Perhaps something under the car is hanging lower on the later ones or the under tray is not fixed properly, may not be the actual ride height
