C220d coupe 2007 boot

Chaps, This may sound a bit strange but: anyone any ideas on how you open the boot/hatch on this vehicle? I only bought it on Friday and it only came with one key which i think is an aftermarket key anyway as it is a two button. There are no handles or switches on the interior of the vehicle and there is not a handle between the number plate lights as i would expect. That leads me to believe that the tailgate is key operated only and before i go and spend £300 at mercedes , can anyone confirm this for me?

All I can say is that on my 2012 C class coupe the boot opener liver is on the drivers side door low down forward of and under the arm rest.
