Regular reader will know that my wife's treasured C240 Avantgarde Estate in Black had the engine pack up.
We have no idea what is wrong with the engine other than it makes a horrible knocking noise from low down at the front and misfiring badly. The car has stored no errors.
I cannot afford to get a replacement engine at this point nor can I afford to get into stripping the engine down to discover some hideously expensive mechanical part needs replacing.
There have been a variety of suggestions to what the cause may be. However whatever it is will require more knowledge and courage than I posses.
My call to fellow members is:
Do I sell the car on ebay as engine faulty?
Would anybody in Kent care to pop in and have a stab at diagnosis?
Does anybody on here want to buy a C240 Estate in Black with a quad exhaust system knowing that it needs work on the engine?
