I am thinking of getting one of these. Apparently cheaper to hire/lease/PCP than a 220 due to residual values.

Anyone got any opinions and I would appreciate pointers to the best place to hire/lease/PCP from. Presumably the Stealers are a No No.

For contract Hire I've found Mercedes actually offering better deals than many other lease firms can offer.

See HERE

Having had a look at the spec on these 250 CDi's they are so close to the 350 CDi (in performance) I'm wondering now if the V6 is actually obsolete.

Drive both before deciding.... smooth V6 power delivery or franatic 4 pot sounding more like a tractor...:D BUT better fuel consumption....

diesels are all low revvers anyway ... 4 pot should not be too frantic, even if less smooth than V6.

There's a £50 pm difference between the 250 and 350

I'll be interested as to what you think of the new 4-pot motor in C250CDI guise if you get to try one out. Outright performance on paper is very similar to the V6 320/350CDI but fuel economy is substantially better.

I've been told by a salesman who has driven one that the performance is impressive but the engine can get a bit gruff if revved hard. He also commented that he preferred the new engine in it's slightly lower powered 220CDI form because it was noticeably more refined - which is why I'd welcome another view.

BTW, it's rumoured that for the facelift W204 (due 2011?) that the 350CDI V6 will generate 700Nm of torque, so that would definitely set it apart from the 4-bangers again if true.

I've got my eye on something with a 350CDi in it for next year, so I'm certainly interested in peoples opinions between the 250 and 350 also.

The monthly payments to Merc are roughly the same as everyone else but the deposit they want is horrendous!

The most competitive quote I have had so far is from CAR LEASING CHEAP LEASE CARS FOR SALE CONTRACT HIRE VEHICLES CARS TO LEASE. Anyone used them? Quirkiest website I have every seen but I am progressing an application with them and they seem very efficient.

For contract Hire, they seem to be the same as everyone else...i.e. 3 + 35.

I presume you're looking at the agility scheme, which is something different. I;ve always found Mercedes very competitive from a business perspective (providing lease vehicles to Ltd companies).

On ocassions I've tried to get quotes from other comapnies, they were either way off the mark or were only able to provide a single or very limited range of vehicles they happened to have.

Ling cars is like this, the adverts are real, but deviate from exactly whats advertised in any way whatsoever and the cars aren't avaialble or they can't be bothered.

A good example is the Ling deal on a C250 CDI Sport Estate- see HERE at £396.03 + vat on a 3 + 35 deal.

Mercedes will do the same car at £324 + vat per month 3 + 35 ...both on 10,000 miles.

These are business rates of course.

They seem to be 3+35 like everywhere

I've not used them but I've always heard good reviews!

I asked for a quote from Hughes of Aylesbury and they promised to email it the same day, Wednesday. Nothing heard, have they so many orders that I am in a queue?

My experience of Hughes of Aylesbury when we bought Angie's SLK350 from them recently was that they were very willing to spend the time to put a deal together - as long as you are obviously serious about buying. And yes, they do appear to have lots of orders!

The salesman we dealt with was Chris Leach, and we also dealt with Justin Boon the Sales Manager. Both were professional and very helpful. Based on our recent transaction they will almost certainly get repeat business from us in the future.

Yeah, it was Chris I spoke to together with Giovanni (Just one cornetto!!) Ginova the Business Manager who I saw this morning.

I now have the quote which is £2500 up front and £350 pm. Around £500 more deposit and £10 more monthly than I have seen elsewhere. I am sorely tempted to go with them as I think I may get a better service and there will be no hidden extras/costs.

Glad to hear you're getting somewhere :thumb:

I know what you mean about service and hidden extras. The upfront price is obviously important, but a good deal is about more than just price.

Just collected a W204 C250CDI BlueEffiency Sport Auto Estate in Calcite White today.

Really nice sorted motor... the engine is a "gruffer" than the 320CDI. Kind of reminds me of the 270CDI.

All in all the car has a really solid feel. Much sportier drive than our old W203 C220CDI Avantgarde SE (with Sport Pack).

The electric tailgate is also excellent fun!
