C270 estate

Help needed.The car is a 2005. C270 Estate,simple problem to fix,but rear stop light bulb blown,problem,how the heck to you get the covering panel off,I can obviously leaver it away,but as its madams car i have to be careful. Thanks Pat

I have to say I haven't had to do this yet, but I think you squeeze the two tabs at the sides together - it's not a cover as such, it's got the bulb holders built into it.

I presume you mean that part, and not the trim panel in the boot?

If you're still stuck I'll go and look in the handbook.

Rory Thanks for reply,its the Trim panel,there are no tabs,if you look in your car it is all fitted (slotted) in hence i`m not to sure how it comes of. Pat

If it is a W203? The trim panel/cover has a press down button on the top next to the side window. That releases the trim. Then the bulb holder is as Rory describes. It has locking tabs either side that you squeeze together. That is you get your forefinger on one and your thumb on its opposite number and squeeze. The whole bulb holder will then pull out. You may have to disconnect the wiring loom plug, as it can be tight to get out, on the drivers side.

Ah - as above then. The NS one has the first aid symbol on it, and the tool kit etc is in there.

On the top of your first pic (out of shot) there is button next to the side window and at the rear (the left in your pic). Push the button and all will be revealed.
