C300h
Hello

Recently bought a 2016 C300h Estate with loads of extras but annoyingly it doesn't have the tyre pressure label on the fuel cap, the onboard manual just says check the fuel cap as does the handbook (very helpful).
Phoned my local dealer & they couldn't tell me the pressures either & the label is on back order with no delivery date!
Anyone hve the same car that car photograh the label for me so I can check the pressures? :)

This is my 4th Mercedes & so far a bit disappointed with the performance of the car, mpg is nowhere near either the B200 or the C220 Coupe but I don't think the hybrid is working as it should all the time.
When it's cold if you lift off the throttle the engine cuts & it goes into electric but this stops as soon as the car warms up, doesn't go into electric in traffic jams or around town & if you are lucky enough to get it to go into electric it's max speed of around 20mph before the engine cuts back in :/

Shame as it's a lovely car apart from that

Re the mpg and performance issues of the car you need to google owners reviews and comments on how to keep the battery charged to optimise electric use around town.

You can learn to drive it slightly differently, but generally owners report that “they all do that…”

Having just parted with a C300h estate I can back this up. ^^^

Had the car for 5 faultless years. The hybrid system wasn’t the best. Fine for manoeuvring around car parks/driveway and side streets around 15-20 mph but the engine kicked in upon the slightest demand for power.

Didn’t bother us tbh. Loved the car throughout the 5 years of ownership. 👌

Ask the dealer for the MB part number of the tyre pressure sticker, then Google it - you might find it elsewhere - or find a photo of it online.

Thanks for the replies

Tried googling the tyre pressures & getting different opinions on pressures so was unsure what to go for, it currently has 40psi in the rears (when I bought it) but the system onboard is not saying this is wrong that's why I was hoping for a photo of the label for a definitive answer.

Re the hybrid the battery is pretty much always above or around 80% when trying it & it made no difference to when it was at 50% in operation. Again googling owners experiences they seem to vary considerably with some reporting 46mpg & some 62mpg! I was getting 63mpg on a run in the 2016 C Class Coupe & 60mpg in the B200 so considerably down on that.
It's going in Monday for an outstanding recall so will as them if there's anything wrong with the system

Unable to get the part number at the moment but even the image the Merc dealers had didn't have the info that they could read so unless someone has posted the photo I doubt there will be anything

So far pretty underwhelmed & glad I have yet sold the other two as I may just go back to using those & sell this again!

Just got the part number (A205 584 0115) but that's what the guy at Mercedes tried with no luck & I just tried too :/

I’d say that 40 psi is too high and will probably result in lower grip and increased wear in central tread zone. The TPMS system won’t as far as I know, flag over inflation. We typically get high 40’s or low 50’s (C250D AMG Line Estate). Never seen 60’s from it in 8-years of ownership.

Thats because you drive it like ya stole it!!! 😁

I wonder if the OP’er has the 19” multi-spokes like you have? If so a quick photo of your filler cap could yield the required info? 🤷‍♂️

(In fact the label may also have the pressures for the 18” variant.)

Personally, I'd go with 38 for comfort or 40 for a more sporty feel (and longer tyre life).

True! 🤣

We have 18” on ours now with conventional (non run-flat) tyres for better ride quality and reduced risk of pothole damage. The standard OEM tyre pressures on ours are 250 kPa all round. This was too high for the 19” rims resulting in uneven tread wear across the tyre (centre got hammered, especially the rears). This was worse for the 18” which I run at 235 kPa.

I can certainly post a picture of the filler-cap label from ours.

Sorry to bear bad news but those consumption numbers are right and in line with user experience. Again, read the "debate" around these things when they came out.

You won't get 60mpg "on a run" because the hybrid system is really there to give you better town economy and a bit of performance improvement, not distance economy.

Thanks guys & thanks for the photo! Suddenly had a brainwave & got my wife to ask someone selling a C300h estate on ebay for a photo & he very kindly just oblidged too with the same info so have gone for 36 all round & see how that goes.

Yeah I had a feeling I was going to be disappointed, we changed to the hybrid estate as we have a lively Springer who wouldn't fit in the Coupe but it's looking like, with the mpg difference, it will be about the same cost to keep both the other cars & just use the B200 as a van with the dog selling the hybrid again :/
The C220 coupe is a 2016 high spec 9G & very low miles so even more comfortabel than the C300 - should have tried one first!!

I'll get the recall done anyway & see if they say there's anything wrong, it was mostly short journeys we needed it for & where the other two are not as good is around town. My thinking was if the hybrid was ok on normal driving but electric in traffic & slowly around town then it would even out but as it stands it very rarely goes into electric. Stuck in a queue on Wed for about 10 mins crawling along at 5 mph you'd have thought that's where the hybrid would have excelled but just stayed in diesel :/

Thanks for all the replies & help
