I don't hear a difference in sound with my PE exhaust button on or off. I can see the light on but no change in engine tone. When should the valves open. Presume even in comfort with exhaust button on there should be a difference?

Yes, even in Comfort mode the button should open the flaps and you should hear a definite difference.
Sounds like the flaps aren't opening. Only way to check for sure is to ramp up the back of the car and watch the actuators while a friend pushes the button. You'll also be able to check electrical connections while you're under there.

Yep looks like nothing is happening. Electrical connections look fine. Is there anything else to check also is there a fuse for the exhaust and where is this located?
